Color Studio Professional Pure Matt Lipsticks [Review+Swatch]

Being a lipstick person, I usually prefer matte lipsticks. The reason being, matte lipsticks have a better staying power than a satin or glossy finish lipsticks. Not everyone can make a good matte lipstick, was Color Studio Professional successful in making a good matte lipstick?

Color Studio Pro describes Pure Matt Lipsticks:
Amp up your beauty routine with purely pigmented, purely luxury, Pure Matt lipsticks by Color Studio Professional. The innovative lipstick formulation of high impact color envelops your lips with a matt finish. Create a captivating, bold statement featuring a harmony of feminine and vibrant shades with delicate tones from pastel pink and nude peach to neon red and electric fuchsia.

My experience:
I am kinda qite impress with Color Studio Pro which always surprises with their new and amazing launch, almost a year back CSP launched this gorgeous range of matter lipsticks and this time it was the packaging and the product. I really adore the packaging it comes in a black box with a golden case that slides out carrying the lipstick tube - looks very high end. Not only the box, but the tube itself is sturdy and chic. Classic black plastic in square tube with golden line.

Coming to the product, the first thing you will notice as soon as you will open the lid is the sweet vanilla scent, just like MAC lipsticks. If you are not a fan of sweet vanilla scents, don't worry it doesn't linger on the lips for long.

Since they are matt lipsticks, I had an idea of the texture and longevity. Unlike a few matte lipsticks, CSP Pure Matt is not dry and difficult to use. It is creamy in texture, and glides on smoothly. The application is not streaky or patchy. However, I would still suggest to exfoliate and moisturize your lips prior to using any matte lipstick and apply lip balm underneath if you have dry lips issues. The staying power is good however after an hour or so you will notice it gathering up in the inner lip which looks gross . I noticed it happening with the lighter shade 'Paradise' and not with the darker one 'Predator'.

Paradise 107, is a mauvy milky pink shade. A shade that can wash out many skin tones. It is a shade that will look good on a very fair skin tone with pink undertones. However it does look flattering if you use a slight colored gloss over it. Nude shades doesn't wash me out, but shades that have a milky tone to it, can wash many skin tones. As it is a light shade, it starts fading within 2 hours.

Predator 101, is a gorgeous red color - my favorite out of all the reds I own. It is a cool toned red color with blue undertones color, a color that makes your teeth look whiter. A shade that highlights your face without using any makeup. It is a staple color, with which you only need a liner and mascara and you are good to go. Has a better staying power, since it is a red shade and it stains your lips.

Pros:
  • 28 different shades for every skin tone
  • Staying Power
  • Not dry
  • No streaky or patchy application
  • Chic packaging
Cons:
  • Light shade gathers inside the lip area
  • To some it will be the price

Color Studio Pro Pure Matt Lipstick comes in 28 different shades, with a price tag of Rs 750. To see the swatches of other 26 colors click here. You can find the entire range of Color Studio Pro in any leading supermarkets - nationwide. They are also available online on Just4girls.

What do you prefer - Matte, Satin or Glossy finish? What is your favorite brand for Matte Lipsticks?

8 Steps to Flawless Foundation Application [Tips & Techniques]

Hello Beauties
First of all Sorry for being MIA. But now, since i am back i would start with sharing how to apply foundation flawlessly for a perfect look.

Foundation application is the key to flawless looking makeup. Bad application and too much of a product can ruin the look. I've been getting A LOT of questions regarding foundation application from my friends and family. Mostly the questions are regarding how to get flawless application, how to hide dark circles and how to avoid foundation from looking cakey. After going through those questions and after testing different techniques and tools, I thought of writing a post about how I do my foundation to achieve the flawless foundation.

Steps to flawless foundation routine:

1. Be it face, lips or nails; everything thing needs to be prepped and primed prior to the application to get a smooth long lasting finish. Always cleanse, exfoliate and tone your skin. This helps to get rid of dirt and any dead skin on the face. Dead skin and dirt are one of the reasons for bad application.

2. Always moisturize your face. Whether you have dry, normal or oily skin moisturizing is necessary. There is a moisturizer for every skin type. For oily skin type, the key is to start from outwards instead of inwards. Take a pea size amount of moisturizer, rub on the fingers and start rubbing from the outer face taking the remaining product inwards.

3. Apply primer! It is an optional step. It is for those who face foundation fading, changing color or looking gray. Primer not only helps foundation to stay put for long but also prevents the foundation to react with the skin and change the color.

4. Do you have VERY dark circles? The blueish ones that are hard to hide with a concealer? Orange corrector is THE product you need to have in your makeup stash. It is the step after the primer if you are using the corrector. If not, skip this step to 5. Apply on the areas which needs coverage with a ring finger or a wedge sponge. Remember to dab it and not rub it. Dabbing makes the product to absorb in.

5. Foundation ALWAYS comes before concealer. If you are using a foundation, concealer is the step after foundation. Whatever foundation you are using, the key is blending. I prefer fingers the most, but some products do need tools. I've used Sigma F80, normal local sponges and a tear drop beauty sponge (dupe for beauty blender). I now know the difference between the coverage every tool gives. Tear Drop Beauty sponge gives the most natural coverage, blends in easily, no cracks, no cakey finish and flawless application.

6. After foundation comes the concealer. This is the query everyone has and most of the girls doesn't know. Especially the girls at makeup counters in the supermarkets. We use concealer after foundation because that's when you know how much coverage you actually need; we don't need an extra product to make the under eye area cakey or cracky. Also you rub off the concealer while applying the foundation. Again, always dab. Apply with a brush or the ring finger and dab with a sponge - it gives a natural flawless finish.

7. Dust the translucent/loose powder or compact powder lightly, with a large fluffy brush. If you are opting for full coverage, lightly dust the powder on the t-zone bringing the product outwards. For dry to normal skin types, use as lightly as possible to avoid dryness.

8. Spray a setting mist or makeup fixing spray, this helps foundation to set. One thing I've learned and read too after experiencing is: going in the heat to set the foundation. Heat/warmth ALWAYS help foundation to set (personal experience). It doesn't mean stay in the heat, you can do that in a warm room or in the hot shower.

These are the steps I follow to get a flawless natural looking foundation.

Remember: The key is blending; DO NOT rub the concealer or foundation. Always dab them, dabbing helps in foundation to absorb into the skin and covering the uneven skin tone. Or if you are using the brush, always apply in circular motion; be it liquid or powder foundation. Rubbing gives streaky application, in that way you tend to use a lot of product ending up with a cakey finish.

The tools I used: Triangular wedge sponge for concealer and Abbamart Tear Drop Beauty sponge (dupe of beauty blender) for the foundation. I sometimes use a Tear Drop Beatuy sponge for foundation and concealer both.I got mine from Local Supermarket.

Disclaimer: I've shared my personal experience after trying different tools and techniques for flawless foundation. This is the one I follow now and I am a happy person. It also depends on the products you use.

I will do another post with all the products I use and the picture of myself with the steps. If you have any questions, please leave in the comments below so that I can cover them in the next post.

Why am I MIA?

I know I've been posting on and off for a few months so I thought of writing a post to let my readers know why I am MIA and will be MIA for a few more days.

The reason is, I was moving to a new house. Anyone of you who has shifted to a new house or a new place would know how hectic this job is. But now i will try to write and post as much as I can. I've been MIA on Instagram too, because I don't get time to take a picture. Yes, that's how much busy I was.

I had A LOT of pending posts to publish, but the problem was the pictures. I packed almost all of my stuff. The only unpacked things were the necessary things that I need for daily basis.

But now since i have got my internet connection back at my new place
. Soon I will come up with a lot of interesting posts.

If you have any requests or queries, please write me on munira.firoz1@gmail.com or leave in the comments below.

What Facts About Laser Hair Removal You Should Know

you have waxed, plucked, shaved - and every single tactic seems to either consume too much time or leave you in pain. There has to be a better way, you moan, as you go through another one of your hair removal routines before a big night out. As it so happens there actually is a better way, and it is called laser hair removal. But before you head to a skin clinic, get to know the three main facts about this modern hair removal procedure.

1. Laser hair removal, is not a permanent solution but it is a long-term approach to getting rid of unwanted hair. This type of cosmetic procedure beams highly concentrated light into your hair follicles, right to the roots of your hair. The pigment in the follicles then absorbs the light, which destroys hair growth - but not forever. Some men and women may see results after three to five sessions, and then require a yearly touch-up. So when you are going in for this procedure, make sure to ask your skin specialist about the number of sessions you can expect.

2. Laser hair removal is best for people with dark hair (brown or black) with light skin because the laser zeroes in on the melanin in the hair. However, fear not blondes and reds and grays, with dark skin. The technology is constantly being improved upon and currently, there is a machine that works best for those with dark skin. You just have to make sure that the skin clinic you have chosen has a technician who uses the right machine and calibrates it in the proper setting for your particular skin type. The wrong machine and erroneous calibration can produce hyperpigmentation and reportedly even increase hair growth - which could be very bad if you are trying to get rid of underarm hair.

3. You need to prepare before you go in for your session and practice post procedure habits to ensure a smooth procedure. Before the session, you need to steer clear of sun exposure for up to six weeks, as some doctors may recommend. Sun exposure and tanning may increase side effects. You should also not tweeze or wax before your laser procedure as these may disturb hair follicles, which will then interfere with the laser removal. But shaving is allowed as this preserves the hair shaft and follicle. After your procedure, avoid sun exposure and when heading out in daylight, always put on some sunscreen.
